Hi Everybody and Welcome !

I'm very excited about our continually evolving organization that reaches out to Singers, Songwriters, Musicians, Music Fans, Listeners and Friends over the Internet. To finally be able to bring together those of you who are interested in a "Supportive Environment" for live performances and recordings of varied music styles.

My name is Ernest "Joe" Budnick and I am the President of UMO Music since 1995. UMO Music provides free and low-cost services, live events and recording opportunities for musical artists and bands in the genres of rock, classic r&b, alternative, acoustic singer/songwriter, pop, etc. For details of what we provide see "About UMO". (Since UMO doesn't cover rap or hip-hop you may try using Google to search the Internet to find services for those genres.) We continually upgrade UMO to provide services that are requested through our Contact Page.

While increased service and information is a major goal, we also want to make sure that the site loads quickly, so the use of graphics, photos and sound files, has been limited to pages where they provide a valuable function. Therefore, we may not be the prettiest web site on the planet, but we hope to be one of the most useful. If there are any additional services or information you'd would like to see on UMO, please let us know and we will do our best to get that information added.

In the meantime, please be sure to check out "The 14 Best Singer /  Songwriters of Greenwich Village" CD's and the UMO Open Mic & Showcase held every Sunday afternoon 2pm to 6pm in Greenwich Village. Many new artists, (and some "more established" artists) have been dropping by to play originals as well as some of their popular music.

Whether you're in the village or not, don't forget to check out the UMO Concert Calendar to find a variety of artists currently on tour. We are always in the process of developing new projects. Between all of the exciting changes going on at UMO and the great music I've been hearing I'm certain this will be a great year.
